About Steven:
Steven Librot MA, LCMHC is a licensed therapist who brings an excitement to his work. He is constantly learning and growing personally and in his work, keeping up to date through continuous advanced training in the findings of current research and implications for therapy. The fields of neuroscience (learning how the human brain works), neuroplasticity (how the brain can change and heal) and mind-body psychotherapy are on the cutting edge in modern psychology research. In addition, Steven relishes the passion for life he experiences by being in the presence of his clients, who embody the courage to risk, to change, and to grow themselves.
In his work, Steven blends mindful methods such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-focused Therapy with interventions drawn from the expressive arts, and with the wisdom of traditional cultures, such as the Taoists of China, the Buddhists of Asia, the Sufis of Persia and Turkey, and Native American cultures.
Steven's work with teens is also informed by his current and ongoing work for more than 20 years within public schools in VT and NH, providing a safe space within a school where all aspects of student personalities are welcomed, while collaborating with students, families and educators to craft and implement plans to meet students' academic-social-emotional-behavioral needs in healthy ways, and while joining with parents in challenging schools to provide needed services to students.
Steven and his wife live in Vermont, where they have raised five
grown children. In his spare time, Steven enjoys family, learning, exploring worlds without and within, working the land, running, working out, Cuban music, cooking, and savoring the four season beauty and serenity of rural New England.
